The Nottinghamshire Netball Association Summer League 2011 is under way. It started on Tuesday 10 May & finishes in July.

The club has entered 4 teams in the League. All 4 teams from last year have retained their places in the divisions in which they played.

Jade & Blue are in Division 1, Navy in Division 4 & Black Gold in Division 5.

We welcome back for the third year our 'hockey squad' as the Black Gold team. This group play club hockey for West Bridgford Monarchs Hockey Club in the winter season and also now enjoy playing netball in the summer months as Cliftonettes club members.

The Navy squad is the club's U15 players who are playing in a senior league for the first time.

In the winter season they took part in the Nottinghamshire Netball Association U16 League which introduced them to a higher level of competition. They faced different challenges & level of competition to the Junior League that they had previously taken part in. Now it is a step up again which will be a testing time for them but also an enjoyable experience of regular & different competition.

CONGRATULATIONS to the U14 ROYAL squad qualifying for the England Netball National Junior Championship Finals as Runners Up at the Regional Qualifying Tournament on Sunday 10 April in Leicester.

The Finals are on Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 May at Loughborough University.

The U14 Navy squad did exceptionally well & attained 4th place overall.

Fantastic achievements for both U14 club teams gaining top spots in the East Midlands Region!!

Well done to all the players, your commitment has been rewarded, thank you to the officials (coaches, team managers, scorers) for all the hard work & to the parents for their support.

 

The last training session for Juniors (6.00-7.30 U11 U12 & U13 age groups) & Juniors/ Seniors (7.30-9.00 includes U14 age group plus U15 U16 U18 & adult members) was on Monday 11 April

There are NO TRAINING SESSIONS on Monday 18 April & 25 April (Bank Holiday) or 2 May (Bank Holiday)

TRAINING restarts on TUESDAY 3 MAY at the usual times then every Monday after that until the 4 July (except Monday 30 May again this is a Bank Holiday)

Two of the club U14 squads that have been involved in the Nottinghamshire Netball Association U14 County League have qualified for the next round of the England Netball Junior Championships.

The U14 Royal squad have WON the league & the U14 Navy have come RUNNERS UP.

Both teams have now qualified for the East Midlands Regional Tournament on Sunday 10th April at Soar Valley Netball Centre, Leicester.

The Winner & Runner Up in this tournament will qualify for the National Finals on the 14th & 15th May 2011 at Loughborough University.

Due to the adverse weather conditions & continued snowfalls plus freezing temperatures all league matches at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre on Saturday 4 & 11 December were cancelled.

The NNA Senior Winter League matches have been rearranged for the reserve dates of Saturday 9 April (4th Dec.) & 16 April (11th Dec). Each team will have the same fixture, same time, same court on the 9 April as for the 4 December & on 16 April as for the 11 December.

 

Also the STAPLEFORD HIGH 5 TOURNAMENT on Saturday 4 December for the U11 age group was cancelled.

The HUCKNALL TOWN TOURNAMENT on Saturday 11 December for U12 & U13 age groups was cancelled as was the NEWARK TOURNAMENT for U14 & U15 age groups.

 

NNA Senior Winter League matches are restarting on Saturday 8 January 2011.

The next Stapleford High 5 U11 Tournament is on Saturday 8 January, Hucknall Town U12/U13 Tournament is on Saturday 15 January & Newark U14/U15 Tournament on Saturday 22 January.

 

Regional Club U16 League matches start on Sunday 9 January. Cliftonettes U16 squad qualified for this League as Runners-Up in the Notts Netball Association U16 League.
