The Nottinghamshire Netball Association Summer League 2011 is under way. It started on Tuesday 10 May & finishes in July.
The club has entered 4 teams in the League. All 4 teams from last year have retained their places in the divisions in which they played.
Jade & Blue are in Division 1, Navy in Division 4 & Black Gold in Division 5.
We welcome back for the third year our 'hockey squad' as the Black Gold team. This group play club hockey for West Bridgford Monarchs Hockey Club in the winter season and also now enjoy playing netball in the summer months as Cliftonettes club members.
The Navy squad is the club's U15 players who are playing in a senior league for the first time.
In the winter season they took part in the Nottinghamshire Netball Association U16 League which introduced them to a higher level of competition. They faced different challenges & level of competition to the Junior League that they had previously taken part in. Now it is a step up again which will be a testing time for them but also an enjoyable experience of regular & different competition.

We are delighted to let everyone know that Gill Barradell one of our junior & senior coaches has been awarded the England Netball Long Service Award for her commitment and extensive work in this sport as a player, umpire & coach. This information was included in the August issue of the magazine. A fantastic achievement Gill and well deserved for all that you have done in netball so far & continue to do.
More good news about Nicola Caunt a member of Cliftonettes for the past 3 years. Nicola has been selected into the England Netball Talent 2 (U19). This is a major achievement along her route towards full international honours.
Nicola has progressed along the Excel Pathway from school, club, county representation, Regional Talent, Loughborough Lightning Development squad, EN Talent 1 (U17) & now Talent 2. This has required dedication, hard work, commitment & a positive attitude as well as her outstanding playing ability.
We wish Nicola every success and will follow her progress through the EN website, the magazine & hopefully the media. Well Done Nicola!!
Congratulations also to Rose Walker & Chavonne Duckworth both U16 players on their selection for the Loughborough Lightning Development squad & participation in the England Netball National Talent League this year. The updated East Midlands Regional League Final Results 2007- 2008 document can be found on the Downloads page.
In November 2007 Lincoln Imps B were deducted 1 point for playing an unregistered player. They should have been deducted 5 points.
The results table has now been amended so Lincoln Imps have finished on 29 points 1 less than Cliftonettes.
Therefore Cliftonettes do not have to attend the Regional Qualifying Tournament on the 8th June since they have secured their place in Division 2 of the Regional League for 2008- 2009.
The aim is to improve on this season's results & gain a HIGHER position in Division 2. In the top two places would be great!!
